It’s still summer the weather is good and it’s a perfecttime for a picnic retro style.

I can still remember our childhood picnics, mum would make achicken, and salads and cold icy drinks, which we put in the freezer the nightbefore, we would all pack it into our special picnic basket and our colourfulesky and off we would go on our long trip to Rye. ( Well it felt like it was a long wayfrom Frankston we were young). My sister would always be car sick and we wouldhave to stop a lot. We went to our special place we called ‘The Spot” which wasthe back beach in Rye.We had lots of fun sliding down the sand dunes.

Picnics are still fun, my sister and I still meet for picnics,the kids take their bikes or skateboards, cricket bat and ball. Autumn iscoming - a perfect time for a retro picnic!

The Vintage shed has some great, retro picnic things,vintage bicycles and games, relive the past, come and take a look, you mightfind something fantastic for your next picnic.

The Tyabb Air Show will be on Sunday March 4th, but there is good news and bad news!
Firstly the bad news (always best to know that first) the road will be closed from Frankston Flinders Road and also Jones/Boes Road, but don't despair......now for the good News!
You can access The Vintage Shed by going to the Jones Road entrance and asking to come to us and they will let you in. The Bonus is while you are browsing it will be a great place to catch a glimpse of some of the aerobatics from the Show. Hope to see you there.

Wow what a weekend, we had people come in from everywhere, lots of local Peninsula people, Fitzroy, Collingwood, Ringwood and even a lady from Benalla. They were all so excited about visiting the Vintage Shed and bought some great bargains. But don't worry there are lots more, the stall holders have been restocking today. Here are some pics:

EASTER OPENING

Hi everybody, just a quick post to keep all our lovely customers updated on our Easter opening. We will be open this Thursday as normal, Good Friday we will close and then open Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday..

Whoops again, only this time it has been about two months and no blogging! What can I say, its been so busy at the shed lately tit really doesn't leave time for anything else besides serving all the lovely people that pass through and keeping a bit of order behind the counter.

So today I finally have a few minutes peace for an update. Our front entrance has had a makeover and looks amazing. Our stallholders are busy sourcing new old stuff and things seem to fly out the door.

That's about all,we will be open this Monday for the labour day weekend and I will be here!

A big huge congratulations to Carly ( one of lovely staff members) and Daniel welcomed a gorgeous little baby boy who they called Maxwell on Thursday. They are doing well and we can't wait to meet little Max!

Whoops two weeks no blogging! We have been busy down here again and a few of us have been getting little ones of too school for the first time.. doesn't leave time for much else!

Its a bit wet and miserable down here today, I took a few photos of stock- some new and some old..

We welcomed a new stallholder last week, Taryn has some great Retro shirts and lots of industrial style furniture and bit and bobs... E26 is her stall number, well worth a look on your next trip to the V.S.

Busy Busy Busy!

It has been a huge month for us here at the Vintage Shed. We are coming to the end of our 7 day a week opening and it has been a whirlwind for us- we have been so busy and met so many new people, some have found us by accident driving past, there has been lots of lovely design files readers and of course our regular customers, who we love and have become more like friends.

So now we go back to opening Thursday to Sunday, which is kind of nice as there is a small staff here and we have all worn out our welcome with grandparents, babysitters etc to mind our kids while we are down here working and having fun..

Monday 24th January

I am back from holidays and finally can update everybody with some new stock photos.. There are so many great things here at moment - I really need to put blinkers on when I walk up and down the aisle's because I really want everything!

The pictures don't really do the bike justice, it is vintage and so cute.. I have to disclose that I did make the car cushion! I love the vintage rubber stamps , and the printers blocks- like I said blinkers !

We have had a great response to the design files post and had lots of lovely new customers over the weekend, looking forward to meeting lots more..

This our last week of 7 day trading ,including Australia day, February we go back to opening Thursday to Sunday..

The Vintage shed is celebrating one year of business today ! This day a year ago , we opened our doors with just 5 stall holders. Since then we have expanded twice, have a list of 50 people waiting for stall space and host a monthly farmers market.

January has been one of our best months ever and 2011 will hopefully include some new stall space and lots of other exciting things.

Our Christmas display was a huge success and we sold nearly everything that was in it, so following on from that Beck and Jodee took a bit of inspiration from summer for our latest display ( even though it is very wet and soggy down here today)

I am having a few issues with my computer at home , so apologies for the lack of new stock photos.. Hopefully I will have some in the next few days..

As I type this two of our lovely stall holders Marcus and Bernadette gifted us with a lovely birthday present ! Thanks Marcus and Bernadette, so very thoughtful of you, and it will save Sue and I raiding the fridge this afternoon for chocolate !

The Vintage shed is buzzing with activity at the moment , so i haven't had any time to take any photos. But I do want to let everybody know that we are open 7 days a week until the end of January. On New Years Day we will open from 1-5. I will be back there tomorrow and hopefully I can squeeze in a bit of time to get a few shots of new stock, at the moment though things are flying out the door not long after our stallholders fill up !

Yesterday we had our second farmers market and today we kicked off our Xmas & new year trading .. and Jodee is back behind the counter ! It was great to have her back , she has been missed by lots of stallholder and customers .

Unfortunately there was a lot of rain for the farmers market , I didn't deter a lot of people who came out for some lovely cakes , veggies and gorgeous fresh flowers .. I was too busy chasing my boys away from the cake stand to get any photos , but I did manage to get a few of some stock today.

A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT US

I wanted to let everybody know a little bit more about the people behind the Vintage Shed..

First of all there is Jodee and Tim who own and manage the Vintage shed , my bosses and possibly the best people to work for ever ! In amongst the madness of the first 8 months of a new business , they welcomed their third child a gorgeous baby boy.

There is a few of us that work behind the counter , my friend Sue ! Who keeps us all very organised and on our toes ! There is Bec , who is also a stallholder aka Vintage Girl and the creator of our Vintage Christmas display. Danni and her twin sister Lori are our newest recruits , and are fitting in very well . Then there is me , I live locally with my Husband and two boys and am at the Vintage Shed most Thursdays and Fridays..

>O.K I wrote the above last night and clearly I must have been tired , because I forgot a couple of people ! There is also Frances who is Tim's sister and works behind the counter and also takes care of the books. Last but not least is Carly , who is leaving us soon to have a baby.. Sorry Frances and Carly !

Today on my travels around the shed I took my phone with me and managed a few photos - they are a little blurry , I am new to the i-phone and must be getting a bit old because it is taking me a while to learn how to use it !

A few blurry ones ,but I couldn't resist putting in the pink chair I think it would be so cute in a little girls room with a few little dolls sitting on it .

CHRISTMAS -VINTAGE SHED STYLE

I am feeling a bit guilty for neglecting this blog at this early stage of my blogging career , some days or weeks its just hard to fit it all in - especially with two very busy boys making request every ten seconds !

Anyway enough about me , we are getting into the Christmas spirit at the Vintage Shed and my friend and V.S stall holder Bec has set a little Christmas scene , with a very retro feel - not a bit of tinsel in sight! and it looks amazing.Once again we have some lovely new stock in this week , you have to be quick though - I regularly have hissy fits because a customer has found something that I love and somehow missed on my travels up and down the aisles !!

We also have another farmers Market on the 21st of December , I am looking forward to it as I missed the last one so cant wait to get there early and stock up for a Christmas day feast . That's all for today , hopefully I will get a little bit of time on Sunday to get some more shots of new stock..

Better late than never !! Finally a little bit about the the vintage emporium ..

Run by the lovely Vanessa the V.E is a little building just next to the Vintage Shed and is packed with he most amazing Vintage clothing , accessories and even some handmade and vintage children's clothes and toys .. Vanessa is well known around the Mornington Penisula for her love and knowledge of vintage clothing , and she also loves a chat !!

On another subject , we had our first farmers market on Saturday and even though it rained we still had an amazing turnout .. I will post some photos later on in the week , the next market will be on the 21st of December ..

We are really excited that we been granted planning permission to hold a monthly farmers market at the Vintage Shed on the last Saturday of every month it is something that has been in the works for a while now. We are hoping the first one will be on the 27th of this month , and I will post the details as soon as we get confirmation...

A little bit about the Vintage shed

Ok , not really sure where to start - I am huge fan of a lot of blogs and spend a lot more time reading them than I probably should !!

So this is how I managed to nominate myself as the Vintage Shed blogger . Our main aim is to keep people informed of all the comings and going at the V.Shed.

For those of you who dont know us we are down on the mornington peninsula and trade in lots of amazing treasures that change on a daily basis. We have indvidual stallholders that all spend a lot of time searching in all sorts of places to bring unique and indivdual wares for sale.. These range from handmade childrens clothes and artwork , vintage industrial items , kitchenalia , toys and custom made furniture.

Our address is 93 Morninton -Tyabb Rd , Tyabb 3913 .. We look forward to seeing lots of new faces down there very soon
